Putting the ‘die’ in ‘Diet’

While at home, I usually pay a visit to the family nutritionist.

He looks over my blood work from the doctor, sets me up on any vitamins that I’m low on and lectures me on the over-the-counters that I mention (apparently Melotonin is devilishly bad for me).

As we were paying for the newest batch of vitameatavegamins (I jest), something new happened.

“You have a lot of nerve,” the counter clerk said, pointing into my mother’s purse, “bringing that poison into a health store.”

The “poison” he referred to was a bottle of Diet Coke.

My mom and I laughed and smiled.

“I know,” I said. “It’s terrible.”

“But not calorie-wise,” she added.

This set off an entire lecture wherein the words “poison,” “neurotoxin,” and “better off with regular Coke” abounded.

Did you know…

This is gonna be rough.
