Hey guys! As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a member of the blogger network 20SB (or 20 Something Bloggers) and the site is hosting it’s 9th Blog Swap. This means that I and someone else on the site randomly swapped posts today. This particular blog swap’s topic was summer. To quote the prompt directly:

“As summer nears its end and it’s back to school time for many, we think it would be fun to reflect on SUMMER. Did you take any great vacations? Did you melt in the heat? Do you have a favorite summer memory from your childhood? Share anything summer-related with us!”

I was paired up with Neha over at Wording Thoughts. In her own words describing herself,

“I am from India and I came to the United States in the Fall of 2005 to study for my masters in mass communications. I have been working since I graduated in 2007 as a marketing analyst. And working for the same company for 5 years is now getting tooooo boring.  So I am trying other things, and hopefully one of the other things might work out which will lead to a change in place for me. Oh! I currently live in Columbia, S.C. and am looking forward to move out of here soon.”

You can read my post on Neha’s blog here, but for now, on to Neha’s post!
Reflecting on Summer 2011 – The Summer of Realizations!

Interesting is least of the words to describe my summer. It’s been a whirlwind of life changing incidences that have lead to heavy realizations.

Realization …

… that you should remove anything that takes up space unnecessarily, such as old rags, clothes, papers, and relationships. A tidy living space equals clean thoughts and clean thoughts lead to a cleaner life.

… that eventually everything boils down to two options – the good one and the other one. The challenge is the process of breaking it down and classifying the two options.

… that we do not have control over the ‘How-s’ and the ‘When-s’ of life. All we can do is try. We can only give a 110% to what’s in our capacity. We can only trust with faith and patience that the rest will be taken care of!

… that life is in the ‘now’ – not in the ‘when-s’ and the ‘if-s’. Read more. Write more. Paint. Plant. Play tennis. Dance. Sing. Cook more. Swim more. Laugh more. Seize the moment! It’s the only truth.

… that there are no coincidences. Everything happens for a (good) reason.

I had never thought that I would be one of those who write about the ‘law of attraction.’ For those who don’t know about it, the ‘law of attraction’ is a new thought belief that ‘like attracts like’ – translating to ‘positive thoughts’ attract positive material results and negative thoughts attract negative material results. You can read more about it here. Oprah has talked about it on her show too.

Having lived a stagnant life (a.k.a. same job, same place, same everything) for almost 1.5 years, I have been ready for a change for quite some time now. Change, they say, is good. I believe it’s necessary. I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I smile. I know it’s a blessing. I can sense the excitement of a new adventure!

Thanks Neha! I enjoyed participating in the Swap with you!
